Everything happened between April 08 and 10, 2023, as a foretaste of what we will experience this summer. 10 balloons from the French Montgolfières team, 2022 world champion, came to train in the Val de Garonne. The inhabitants of the area and more particularly the Marmandais were able to enjoy a magical spectacle, particularly on Saturday morning with the flights which overlooked the roofs of the city center...

The most impressive thing was also to see them in the agility events and in particular at the Saint-Pardoux-du-Breuil stadium, a small peaceful town in the eastern suburbs of Marmande not used to receiving so many people around the city. its municipal stadium.
Why come to Marmande for the French Hot Air Balloon Championship?
This year, we celebrate the anniversary of the first human flight which took place 240 years ago on November 21, 1783 preceded by a first attempt with animals on September 19, 1783 thanks to the technique implemented by Joseph and Etienne, the Montgolfiers brothers.
How will the championship go from August 13 to 18?
- 50 balloons in competition, 25 party balloons, 350 pilots from all over France and probably more than 70 visitors will be present during these 000 days. This will be the biggest event in August in Lot-et-Garonne and one of the most anticipated in New Aquitaine.
- The flights will be visible over a fairly wide area of 20 kilometers around Marmande depending on the weather.
- Un village of the championship will be set up at the Filhole plain where you will find food, an exhibition, the stands of the championship partners, but also the presence of the Tourist Office at certain times of the day.
- Flights will take place in the morning from 7 a.m. and in the evening from 18 p.m. Flight plans are not known in advance, because it is a sporting event.
