A fan from the start... Mondoclowns has become for me one of the unmissable events in Val de Garonne which opens the year with good humor, derision and extravagance!

I will always remember this day when the future Artistic Director of the future Mondoclowns Festival, Thierry Planès, came to see me at the Tourist Office to present his somewhat crazy project:
A Clown Festival in Marmande!!!

I immediately saw someone passionate with his laughing look and his sparkling eyes… And he was right!

For this 8th edition we went behind the scenes of a Parisian music hall from the 1940s :
The scene is set, from the first minutes we are immersed in the crazy atmosphere of the time!

The excitement is at its peak! It's time for rehearsals in anticipation of the big music hall "Parissimo" scheduled soon!

Thierry Planès, the Director

We discover a Director who has completely fallen under the spell of a magazine leader hired at the drop of a hat! A somewhat condescending assistant to the Director, a completely out-of-touch theater manager, a slightly hysterical concierge… What a team!

Added to all this hilarious artists full of talent :
Catastrophic singers, a failed magician, crazy acrobats, a self-centered star, a funny riding lesson, an incredible automaton, singers, dancers, a delirious one-man band... and that gives a unforgettable show!

The show ended in a very special atmosphere with a lot of emotion from all the artists and Mr. Loyal! Lots of emotion because this show was an opportunity to pay tribute to deceased artists “the Chick’ys” and others for whom this performance was the last of their career on “duo Manducas” !

By living such an experience we become fully aware that this world of clowning and circus art is a big and beautiful family!

Beyond the talent of the artists, I particularly liked this edition because I discovered a Mr. Loyal in a different light, another label, in total immersion in the show.
I also loved the festive Parisian atmosphere and crazy that reigned there!

The explained symbolism of French can-can, this famous 19th century dance which symbolizes freedom and emancipation of women at that time, also touched me!

Mondoclowns is also a superb exhibition inspired by the world of clowns Toly Castors to be held until February 24 at the Albert Camus media library in Marmande.

Mondoclowns, the festival of the greatest clowns & eccentrics in the world will return in 2025 with not 3 but 4 days of shows
from 6 to 9 February.
This 9th festival will be placed under the sign of magic and is entitled
“KAZAAM” promises!
