DAY 1: Start for 3 days of adventure between city and nature!

Welcome to Tonneins !
Depending on your arrival time at the station, we invite you to visit the city center independently of this commune of Lot-et-Garonne long rocked by the history of tobacco. Stop off at the Tourist Office to find out more information, particularly on the discovery tours of the town.

After lunch, it's time to head back to Adelaide on the quays of Tonneins.
Passionate about the river and manager of Garonne canoes, she will provide you with all the advice and your road map to navigate peacefully on the Garonne aboard your canoe, all the way to the beach where you will spend the night.
This first half day autonomy canoe descent on the majestic Garonne will offer nature lovers an immersive experience in a preserved natural environment.

At the end of the day, you will arrive at a charming Garonne beach, in Caumont, where you will be alone to spend the night.
On site, your comfortable camp will be waiting for you and will have been installed beforehand by Adelaide.

Dinner : After discovering your sleeping place for the night, it is time to light the fire pit for a barbecue evening – Vegetarian meal option possible.

At the end of the day, you will arrive at a charming Garonne beach, in Caumont, where you will be alone to spend the night.
On site, your comfortable camp will be waiting for you and will have been installed beforehand by Adelaide.

Dinner : After discovering your sleeping place for the night, it's time to light the fire pit for a barbecue evening (Meal delivered on site by Adelaide – local meat, seasonal vegetables, homemade dessert and wine from local vineyards (extra) – Vegetarian meal option possible.

DAY 2: On the way to the hills of Gascony!

Garonne Beach in Caumont-sur-Garonne ->Meilhan-sur-Garonne -> Cocumont 
Distance: 21 km of canoe navigation (approximately 5 hours of navigation) (I.e. + 8,5 km of cycling 🚴

After having breakfast on the banks of the Garonne, set off again for around twenty kilometers of navigation. Along the current you can admire the large trees and wild birds endemic to the banks of the Garonne. Along the way, stop for a picnic using local products which will be provided by Adelaide.

You arrive in the middle of the afternoon at Meilhan sur Garonne. There you will find one of the most beautiful panoramas of Lot-et-Garonne with its exceptional view of the Garonne canal, the river and its valley. Several options are available to you:

  • For the most sporty, you can stroll around the village and in particular go up to the magnificent Tertre viewpoint via the spectacular Brèche stairs. A heritage circuit gives pride of place to the rich medieval history of the village;
  • For adventurous geocaching enthusiasts, you can leave for a micro-adventure via the Tèrra Aventura* “He who sees Meilhan, goes sano” ! A 3 km route (approximately 1 hour 15 minutes of walking) to find the 9 puzzles throughout the village.
  • For those whose motto is “after effort, comfort”, why not simply stay at the village's water sports stop, located on the edge of the canal to take a break in the shade of the plane trees.

Heading for a cozy bed…

At the end of the day, it will now be time to return to your accommodation by bike via a section of the Canal des Deux Mers greenway and a few small country roads. Located less than 40 minutes from Meilhan-sur-Garonne by bike, the guest rooms “ the cuckoo's nest » labeled “Bicycle Welcome” in the heart of the vineyards will be your haven of peace for the night. Christine will give you the warmest welcome for a relaxing evening in the heart of the South-West where you can enjoy the outdoor swimming pool in fine weather and, why not, for those who wish, a yoga class or an energy massage (optional, on request). prior reservation).

DAY 3: The tomato capital awaits you!

Distance: 17 km  by bike 🚴

After a hearty breakfast in your guest room, set off again for a morning of sporting discovery by bike! You will cycle successively on two green lanes 100% secure for two wheels. You will follow the Garonne canal lined with plane trees via the Canal des 2 mers greenway by bike, then take the So bike, green route which will allow you to discover the territory at your own pace, all the way to Marmande. You will discover the city of tomatoes and in particular its medieval streets and its famous Filhole park which, with its 300 hectares on the banks of the Garonne, serves as a setting at the start of summer Garorock Festival.

For lunch, opt for the restaurant the O at the mouth, Master Restaurateur ou Restaurant " the Tambouillette » located in the city center, offering fresh and seasonal products.

For your afternoon, there is no shortage of activities in Marmande. Do not hesitate to stop by the Tourist Office for other suggestions and to visit its premises:

  • Tèrra Aventura* geocaching circuit to discover Marmande – Terra Aventura: The Knight of the Apple of Love. (4 km course; approximately 1h315 of walking; 9 puzzles to find);
  • Visit to Marmande independently via one of the circuits offered by the Tourist Office;
  • Culture side, we suggest you visit the Albert Marzelles municipal museum or to discover the Parra House, a unique place that transformed an ordinary home into a life-size painting in downtown Marmande.
