7 km from Marmande in the heart of the Val de Garonne, the André Larroderie archaeological museum, inaugurated in 1987, welcomes you to Sainte-Bazeille. Named in homage to a Bazeillais who devoted his life to studying the past of his commune and Marmandais, this museum traces 2000 years of history of this part of Lot-et-Garonne, from Prehistory to the Middle Ages. by the Gallo-Roman era.
From window to window, more than 700 objects are presented in a permanent exhibition entitled “Twenty years of research in Marmandais”: ancient coins, weapons, Gallo-Roman ceramics, jewelry and other adornments take you back in time.
