In the center of Marmande and a few steps from the Val de Garonne tourist office, the former house of Marmande notary Albert Marzelles was restored and converted into a museum in 1984. Behind the three plane trees which “guard” the museum, push the green door of this residence bequeathed in 1937 to the town of Marmande by Albert Marzelles, with the request “to install a museum there which will bear his name”.
Devoted as much to history as to art, the Albert Marzelles museum has rich collections tracing the history of the city and the history of art from antiquity to the present day. You can admire a Roman mosaic from the 4th century and discover the works of renowned painters and sculptors thanks to permanent and temporary exhibitions organized throughout the year. “The museum is coming out of its reserve! »
