Marguerite his mother and his two brothers, will come to live in this house from 1922 to 1924 then in 1931 for the sale of the domain.
In 1943 Marguerite Duras published her first novel: Les Impudents. At the publication of this one - the action of which takes place in the house of Platier, on the banks of the Dropt, she leaves Donnadieu, her father's name and definitively adopts Duras as her writer's name.
