ABEL BOYÉ – The creation of a work:
On the occasion of the 160th anniversary of the birth of Abel Boyé, the Marzelles Museum celebrates the Marmandais painter of the end of the 6th century and the beginning of the 1864th century. Through drawings, we also discover the painter's young years during his training. Born in Marmande on May 17, 1883, Abel Boyé trained at the École des Beaux-Arts in Bordeaux from the age of XNUMX, then in XNUMX he joined the Beaux-Arts in Paris and the studio of Benjamin-Constant.
The career of the Marmandais painter is thus representative of the career of the academic painters of his time. The correspondence of the Boyé family and certain drawings such as the portrait of his mother finally reveal a more personal side of the painter...
Exhibition visible on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 15 p.m. to 18 p.m. Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 15 p.m. to 18 p.m. Closed on public holidays.
