Route details
Description
Starting from the town hall square, not far from the Admiral's cellar, you will cross the hillside which dominates the valley, without seeing it. From the Pinayne bridge, you have the choice between the Voie Verte or the opposite towpath. After the port, continue along the canal for almost a kilometer. Then follow the foot of the dike, on the old paved towpath of the Garonne. A tunnel allows you to pass under the canal and go back up to Place du Tertre via Rue de la Brèche des Anglais. It owes its name to the feats of arms of the armies of the Earl of Derby who pierced the wall to invest the Citadel in 1345. Historiated panels tell this story, but also that of the citadel, the landscape, the Garonne, the canal, etc. … Return via Pierre Capdeville streets, the church and the Town Hall.
