Description
This small loop begins from the panoramic site of the Romanesque church of Goutz, dating from the 1793th century, which allows you to discover the vineyards and the Garonne valley, from La Réole to Beaupuy, a hillside overlooking the town of Marmande. From there, you can also admire the Sérac valley and, in the distance, the town of Cocumont perched on another height. Slightly off the circuit in the Sérac valley, you can see the remains of the Marquezines mill. The toponymic origin of Goutz could come from the Germanic “Gots” (the Goths) The parish has been part of the commune of Cocumont since XNUMX. The Romanesque church is built on a mound. This earthen mound dates back to Celtic times and is now occupied by a cemetery.
